We had 19 students read 300 minutes or more during the month of October! Congratulations and keep up the awesome work! Remember that 300 minutes is basically reading 15 minutes, 5 times a week. I can't wait to see how we do in November :)
Election Day
On Tuesday, we had our own class Election including ballots and a voting booth! We voted on what our classroom tables would be named for the new Card Marking which starts tomorrow. The winner is.....Animals!
Exercise Balls
We have started using the Exercise balls in the room and I am excited to see how the rest of the trial period goes. So far, we are doing well and handling them responsibly. We know that these are meant to help our learning and are not used as toys. On the day your student has used the ball, ask them about how they liked it to help decide if they will participate in this throughout the rest of the year. We have only had 2 students use the ball so far (1 per day). Starting Monday, we will have 2 students using the ball, and then Wednesday there will be 3. Remember that your student will only be able to participate if the permission form is turned in to me.
Assembly on Wednesday
On Wednesday, we have a very cool assembly to go to thanks to the PTO. Laura and Robert Sams are filmmakers of the DVD "Riddle in a Bottle" which we watched on Thursday. They will be providing us with a humorous and informative presentation that I am sure will not disappoint. If you would like to learn more please visit: http://www.sisbro.com/
