Thank you to all families that sent in names of Veterans from your families. We wrote letters to Veterans from our classroom families to thank them for their service to our country. We also had Mr. Granzow volunteer to come in and speak to the students about his Marine experience which they thought was really neat! Thanks again and Happy Veteran's Day!
Disguise the Turkey
I am LOVING the creative turkeys that have been sent in already! Remember to send yours in by MONDAY so that I can have them on display for conferences. Later in the week, we will be having a voting opportunity so that everyone receives a Turkey Award. Happy disguising!
Conferences
Please send your confirmation slips in by Tuesday for conferences. I may send another one home on Monday if I do not have one back from you yet just in case it has been misplaced. I am looking forward to seeing you all this week and speaking to you about your wonderful Second Graders :)
Exercise Balls
Keep your eyes open for a note this week noting the official arrival of Exercise Balls to our classroom! Please DO NOT bring in balls until I have sent the note home. Just as an FYI for purchasing, I am recommending 55cm size balls of any brand or type. More information will follow.
Book Fair
The book fair will be taking place this week in the Library. If you would like your student to shop during school, this will only be able to happen during their lunch/recess time (12:15-1pm). The hours for the book fair are:
Monday & Tuesday: 11am-1pm
Wednesday: 11am-1pm and 5-7pm
Thursday: 11am-7pm
November/December Scholastic Book Order
I will be sending Book Orders home also for Scholastic some time this week. They will be due Wednesday, December 1st. Online ordering can be found on the classroom website later in the week.
(For future planning, we will be having a Book Exchange before Christmas break. The Book Fair and Scholastic Book order are two great ways to purchase inexpensive books for the exchange. We will be having a group exchange so please do not purchase books that are gender specific. No more than $5 should be spent!)
Congrats to our Student of the Week: Morgan
