A special note is coming home with your student on Monday about a new adventure we are taking on during Morning Work and Choice times in the classroom. This will be a student-driven project but they will need adult support (you and I). The note coming home is attached below and I also invite you to watch this video to begin to peak your interest:

Book Recommendations during Library Time
Just like adults, children are influenced by the book recommendations of their peers. In celebration of March is Reading Month, Salem is kicking off a Book Recommendation Program for our students. All students are encouraged to complete Book Recommendation forms during their scheduled Media Center times. These forms are simple to use. To complete the form, students must write down their name, teacher’s name, the title of the book, the author, and provide two reasons why they loved the book that they have just read. Book Recommendations will be displayed in the Media Center to inspire and motivate other students with their book selections. At the end of the month, students who have completed a recommendation will be entered into a drawing for a free book of their choice from Scholastic. In addition, the recommendation forms will serve as the book raffle entry forms. If your student reads five books, this reader will have five chances to win a book. There will be one raffle for grades K-2 and another for grades 3-5. Happy Reading Salem Coyotes!
