Tuesday is our Field Day! First Grade is the color: Yellow. If your child did not order a Field Day Tshirt, try to help them wear a shirt of this color to match their classmates :) Also, please make sure they are wearing tennis shoes, play clothes, and sunscreen is applied BEFORE they come to school. The day will be as follows:
10:00-> Opening Ceremony on the basketball courts
10:20-11:45--> Games
12:00-12:40--> Picnic Lunch outside (families welcome!) (send a lunch with your student if you did not sign them up for a sack lunch from Food Services)
12:50-2:30--> Games
2:30-3pm--> Closing Ceremony on the basketball courts
Math Packets
In addition to resources I mentioned in last week's blog to prevent the summer slide (look back if you missed it), Mr. Metcalf has created a Math packet for students to complete over the summer. This will be in your First Grader's report card envelope. If this is completed and turned in, students earn a *Game Day* with Mr. Metcalf which happens once a month during the 2015-2016 school year :)
Thank You!
I want to take a moment to thank each of you for sharing your students with me this year. They are all wonderful, capable, and kindhearted children that each brought a unique personality to our classroom community. Each year I am amazed at how much First Graders grow and how incredibly different they are from the first day they walked into the classroom. I hope you feel that way too about your First Grader. In addition, I hope that you also enjoyed being a part of our classroom community! I appreciate all the help with tasks, volunteering, donations, and kind words from all of you that made our classroom successful. I hope that you have a wonderful summer and I look forward to seeing you around Salem in the Fall!
Let's have an AWESOME last week and HAPPY SUMMER!
