Groundhog Day: Thursday
As part of a future Science Unit about Weather, Groundhog Day will prepare us for tracking the weather over the next few weeks. We will be looking at the cloud cover and temperature and decide at the end if the Groundhog was correct! You can help by watching the news on Thursday morning to see if the Groundhog saw his shadow (6 more weeks of winter) or not (early spring!).

Caring Coyote Character Building
Starting Monday, Salem is starting a monthly focus to build on our Character traits as Caring Coyotes. This month's focus is: Optimism. Additionally, we will be having Coyote Clubs once a month to practice characteristics with students in grades K-5. The first Coyote Club is this THURSDAY :) . Students are invited to wear their Caring Coyote sticks they received last year on Coyote Club Days.
Additionally, There will be ways throughout the month where we will be highlighting books we read and activities to practice these qualities. A few places where you can follow our learning is the Sideblog, Twitter, Facebook, and the Padlet on the home page for our classroom website.
