Wow! Those 4 days of First Grade flew by :) In that short amount of time we practiced classroom/school procedures, got to know each other, practiced our Caring Coyote Pledge and tiptoed into classroom tasks. Your First Graders are some incredible learners and this year is going to be AMAZING to say the least! If you have not received an email from Mrs. Wilson or I this past week, Please take a moment to email us so that we have your email for classroom communication ([email protected] and [email protected])
THANK YOU for the overwhelming amount of school supplies! We are all set for now and I will let you know if we ever need anything else as the year goes on via email/blog.
*A quick note about the blog post: This will be updated weekly(usually Sundays) and sent to you via email as a reminder that I have updated it for you to read about the upcoming week. If you read this on your phone, be sure to scroll all the way down after the post to see the SideBlog notes such as Student of the Week, Home Thinking, and Important Reminders.
Water Bottles/Snacks
Since we do not have a drinking fountain in the classroom, water bottles may be kept in the classroom. Please make sure they are labeled so that your student's bottle does not get mixed up with another student. If your child would like to have water at lunch also, you may want to send in a separate water bottle so that they don't run out before the end of the day.
Please send in a HEALTHY snack for your student every day to serve as brain food mid-morning. If you would like, you may also send in an afternoon snack, which students can have before dismissal once they are packed up for the end of the day. *Thank you for the *NUT FREE* snack donations! These will be helpful if students forget to pack one that day*
First Grade Directory
You should have received a permission slip in your First Grader's Red Folder about publishing contact information in the First Grade Directory. If you would like your student's contact information published, please return by this Friday, September 14th. In addition, if you have misplaced yours and would like another one sent home, please let me know.
P.E. Shoes
We have P.E. on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you would like, you may send in a pair of gym shoes for your student to keep in their locker just in case they do not wear a safe pair of gym shoes to school that day.
Dismissal Changes
If your student has a change in dismissal, either send a note with your student or please notify the office EARLY in the day (before 3:00). End of day can be very stressful in the office and by letting all parties know in advance, the easier we get out the door :) Also, if you choose to email please make sure to send the email to Mrs. Seiter ([email protected] ) and Mrs. Barton ([email protected] ), along with myself! This way in case any of us happen to be out of the building that day, the message is still received. Thanks so much!
Change of Clothes
Since it’s the beginning of the school year and we’re still adjusting to new schedules and routines, it might be a good idea to send in an extra change of clothes for your child. That way if anything were to happen, we’re prepared with a fresh change of clothes! Also, if you feel so inclined, the school will be taking donations for clothing to keep on hand if there is a student in need. Do not feel obligated to do so! Just some food for thought.
Happy Birthday to Wyatt on Thursday, September 12th!
