New Reading Log
March was the last month for the Pizza Hut Book It reading log. Therefore, we will be going back to our original reading log (blue) which should be in the back pocket of your student's folder. When these are full, I will replace with a new one. Part of our Second Grade homework responsibilities are to read for at least 15 minutes, 5 days a week. "Today a reader. Tomorrow a leader." -Margaret Fuller
NWEA Testing
We will take the end of year NWEA test for Reading on Wednesday. Next week, we take Math on Monday and Language on Thursday. After students take these, you will get a printout showing their growth in these subject areas from the beginning of Second Grade to now. Please make sure your Second Grader has a full and healthy breakfast on these mornings.
Ice Age Imperials Field Trip
The Second Grades will be traveling to The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center in Saint Joseph next week. There is an exhibit called Ice Age Imperials which connects to our Bridgman History unit where we learned about how evidence of the Ice Age was found right here in Berrien County. Our trip will take place on Tuesday, April 17th. To find out more about this exciting opportunity visit: http://theheritagemcc.org/
Student Led Conference Recap
Once again I want to say how WONDERFUL Student Led Conferences went! Your students worked very hard and it showed during their conference time. I had a great time preparing and guiding them through this process. I also noticed that families were quite impressed by what their students had to share with them. The smiles and laughs were priceless. Remember, the "How to Blow a Bubble" Voicethread projects are posted on our classroom site for you to share with family and friends under the Special Projects tab.
Variety Show
This is the last week to turn in forms if you are interested in auditioning for the BES Variety Show! All talent is wanted and encouraged to try out! Please contact Mr. Foxworthy, Miss Jewell, or I with any questions/comments you may have.
Look in your Student's folder this week for notes about:
