Bridgman Public Schools have made a recent change to the calendar. May 25th (before Memorial Weekend) will now be a Half Day. Please mark this on your calendars!
The Great Poetry Race
The first week of The Great Poetry race was a success! The class did a wonderful job reading to family and friends throughout the week while also improving on their fluency :) Congrats to our first winner: Jose! Jose recorded his voice reading Invitation by Shel Silverstein and can be found on the Special Projects page of our classroom website. As stated last week, a new poem will be sent home on Monday and will be collected with signatures on Friday. Poetry Rocks!
NWEA Testing
NWEA testing continues into this week. We will be taking the Math test on Monday and the Language test on Thursday. Please make sure your student has a full and healthy breakfast for these mornings :)
Ice Age Imperials Field Trip
Our field trip to the Heritage Museum is Tuesday. We will be learning about the Ice Age Imperials Exhibit on display. Thank you to Andria King for being a chaperone for this field trip!
Garbage Monsters
I hope you are having fun creating your Garbage Monsters! Please turn in completed Garbage Monsters by Wednesday.
Junior Achievement
We start Junior Achievement Monday. Our JA volunteer is Georgia Gipson, an employee of Edgewater Bank in Bridgman. Second Graders will learn about how people work together in a community while also preparing them for the future job force. For more information about this program visit: http://www.ja.org
