If your student is getting home different from their normal schedule, a note must be sent into school. This will get to me safely if placed in your student's Red Folder as I check those every morning. If a last minute change occurs during the school day, please call the office versus sending me an email. It's difficult for me to check email after lunch and therefore I may not see the change in time.
If you did not get a chance to signup for Conferences on the night of Curriculum Night, the posters will continue to be in the main hallway for a few more weeks. Please take the time to stop in and sign up for a conference so that we can chat about your First Grader's progress in November. The dates for conferences are: November 12th & 14th.
I have invited your First Graders to begin bringing a book of choice from home that they would like to read to the class. On Mondays-Thursday after Lunch/Recess, students have the opportunity to read to the class. This must be a book from home that they have read at least 1x before that they feel confident with. These books will be placed in a safe Daily Reader Bin and will remain there until it is their day to read. If a student does not finish the book they are reading, they are welcome to be added back to the Daily Reader list to continue another time! This is a great way to build a strong reading community in our classroom and I look forward to seeing your student shine :)
First Grade Directory
If you would like to be included in the First Grade Directory for families, please send back your blue permission form by the end of this week. If you have misplaced yours and would like another, let me know!
Does your student know...
- How to tie their shoes?
- when their birthday is? (month, date, year)
- what their address is? (including city)
Our classroom wishlist is posted all year on Pinterest:
A few things that we are in *high* need for are:
- dry erase markers
- black socks (used for erasers with whiteboards)
- Individually packaged Nut Free snacks
- Hand Sanitizer
Have a FANTASTIC week!
