On Friday, students will be able to change into costumes after lunch. Therefore, please do not send your child to school with their costume on. It is helpful to send your child’s costume to school with them instead of bringing it to them in the afternoon. This sometimes causes the students to not have enough time to change into their costume.
*A note from Mr. Metcalf:
"Please do not allow your child to wear masks, or anything that covers the face so that children are not recognizable. We also ask that accessories that are weapons or weapon-like are not brought into the school. Finally, blood and/or gore of any type is not permitted. These are family events and we ask that all is kept light-hearted and safe. We ask that adult costumes follow the same guidelines."
Here is a schedule of how Friday will run:
1:30--> Change into costumes
2:00--> Parade in Gym (families welcome)
2:30- 3:30--> Party in classroom
3:30--> Cleanup/prepare for dismissal
Rubric Scores
As tests, quizzes, and in-class work comes home you may notice the numbers 1-4 posted at the top to show your student's understanding of the learning goal for that particular topic. These numbers will flow nicely with the report card scoring so I hope that you find them helpful. This is a friendly reminder of what those numbers mean in First Grade Language:
1-This is really tricky for me
2-I can do this if I have some help
3-I can do this
4-I can do this and I can tell you more
Happy Birthday to James on October 25th!
