Welcome to March, which is of course, Reading Month! Our celebration this year is titled "Salem Super Sleuths," which follows a mystery theme. This FRIDAY a packet will be going home with your child that contains important information about this month and all the festivities centered around reading. It also includes a school-wide reading/writing log for March that will replace our normal monthly reading log in the back pocket of your child's red folder. The First log will be due MONDAY, MARCH 5th :) . Our goal is to read 100 minutes weekly (which is our normal 20 minutes, 5 days a week goal). Stay tuned!

As mentioned in Mr. Knapp's Salem Scoop:
On Wednesday, February 28, the Michigan Attorney General’s Office will visit Salem Elementary School to present the Michigan Cyber Safety Initiative (CSI) to all grade levels. Each grade level will participate in a presentation tailored specifically to the grade level. Please find a letter attached at the bottom explaining the program and providing a link allowing you to view the presentation and associated videos. The same letter was sent home on Tuesday of this week. I encourage you to review the letter and view the videos and documents to help you lead conversations at home.
Let me know if you need another letter sent home or if you choose to have your student opt out of this presentation. You can find the videos that will be presented here: goo.gl/2zhe31
