Salem Elementary is collecting donations to put together baskets of goodies for our local First Responders to keep at the stations. Donations can be sent in this week! Each grade level is collecting different items:
K/1st: Individual sized popcorn, pretzels, crackers, and chips, snacks, etc…
2nd: Dried fruit, nuts, jerky, and trail mix
3rd: Breakfast Bars (fruit, protein, granola)
4th: Single serve drink mixes
5th: Specialty snacks (gluten-free, all natural, low carb, low sugar)
*Additionally, notes of appreciation to Salem Fire, Washtenaw County Sheriff, and Michigan State Police are appreciated more than any food item that is donated :)
Thank you for helping us support and thank those that help keep us safe!
Summer Reading Program
A note from Mr. Knapp and our Reading Recovery teachers Mrs. Raines, Mrs. Robinson, and Mrs. Lubin went home with students last week. Salem Elementary offers a summer reading program for students where they are able to select books based on their interests and reading level. I HIGHLY encourage taking advantage of this easy way to make sure your student keeps reading all summer long to keep up the gains they have made this year. Permission slips are due *Tuesday, June 5th* Let me know if you need another slip sent home.
