On Friday, your student brought home their MAP scores from the Reading and Math Assessment we took in September. Attached to the scores, was a cover letter from SLCS explaining the assessment and there was also a helpful informational page explaining how to read your child's scores. If you would like to know more about the NWEA MAP Assessments we will be taking this year, here is a helpful article for parents:

Halloween Party Volunteers/Donations
Mrs. Ackley (Kaylie's Mom) will be organizing our Halloween Party. We recently sent an email with information on the party and the link to Signup Genius for volunteer opportunities/donations. This link has also been posted on the Parents Page of our classroom website. Let us know if you are able to help and be a part of the party :) * Remember you MUST fill in the background check form EVERY YEAR in order to volunteer during the party:

*Additionally, we are looking for brown Paper Bag(grocery size) donations to help with bringing extra items from the party home. Please send in to school with your child if you have any, thank you!
*FIRST GRADE* Zoo Field Trip
We are leaving for the zoo promptly at 9:15am on Tuesday, October 24th. Please make sure your student is dressed for the weather and for walking around the zoo. We will go rain or shine! Please remember to send your student with a sack lunch(disposable) for that day.
Thank you to all chaperones:
Mr. Wall, Mrs. Burrell, Mrs. Candela, Mrs. McGuire, Mrs. McCoy, Mr. King, and Mrs. Bullock.
*A detailed schedule/group assignment will be given to chaperones that morning.
*SECOND GRADE* Tuesday
While I am with First Grade at the Zoo on Tuesday, Second Graders will have a Guest Teacher in the morning (until lunch/recess) and will then join Mrs. Hass/Mrs. Drolet's classes until we return at about 2pm :) .
