Halloween
On Thursday, students will be able to change into costumes after lunch. Therefore, please do not send your child to school with their costume on :)
Here is a schedule of how Thursday will run:
2:45-3:15--> Cider & Donuts in classroom and change into costumes
3:20-3:50--> Parade outside (Families are welcome, see Mr. Knapp's email for full details)
3:50--> Dismissal in the classroom for pickups, Bussers will dismiss normally
Thank you to Mrs. McGuire (Megan), Mrs. Marcum (Hank), Ms. DesRochers (Matthew), Mrs. Nistor (Corina), and Mrs. McCreedy (Shane) for volunteering to help us on Thursday :)
Thank you to Mrs. Marcum, Mrs. McGuire, and Mrs. Porcek (Isabella) for your donations of paper plates, napkins, and paper cups :)
Spelling Menu Review
This week your student will have their normal October Spelling Menu to choose how to practice their grade level words, however, it is a REVIEW week. This means there are no new words. Therefore, use this list as a way to practice the trickiest words and not ALL of the words. Have your student choose 5-10 of the trickiest words for them to work on. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Word Work Check
I will be pulling small groups this week (and next) and will check to see if students can write the words we have been practicing correctly. If they can write words from the past 4 weeks in a word work check correctly, we should be seeing these words spelled correctly in their everyday writing pieces as well. These Word Work checks will be shared at conferences so that you can see your student's spelling progress. Let me know if you have any questions/comments!
