This week your student will have their normal October Spelling Menu to choose how to practice their grade level words, however, it is a REVIEW week. This means there are no new words. Therefore, use this list as a way to practice the trickiest words and not ALL of the words. Have your student choose 5-10 of the trickiest words for them to work on. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Word Work Check
I will be pulling small groups this week (and next) and will check to see if students can write the words we have been practicing correctly. If they can write words from the past 4 weeks in a word work check correctly, we should be seeing these words spelled correctly in their everyday writing pieces as well. These Word Work checks will be shared at conferences so that you can see your student's spelling progress. Let me know if you have any questions/comments!
Raz Kids
A note will be coming home with your students this week with login information for them to use RazKids at home. We use this in school on a weekly basis(1-2x per week) and it helps to use this as support at home as well. The note will give you some options of how your student can login (app and online version available). Also, there is an option for parent access so you can check in on how your student is progressing throughout the year. Let me know if you have any questions! Reading on RazKids can count for Daily Reading Logs too!
Halloween
On Wednesday, students will be able to change into costumes after lunch. Therefore, please do not send your child to school with their costume on :)
Here is a schedule of how Wednesday will run:
2:45-3:15--> Cider & Donuts in classroom and change into costumes
3:20-3:50--> Parade outside (Families are welcome, see Mr. Knapp's email for full details)
3:50--> Dismissal in the classroom for pickups, Bussers will dismiss normally
Thank you to Ms. Cesarone (Spencer), Ms Boudreau (Aubrey B), Mrs. Crady (Nicolas), Mrs. Gehringer (Reed), and Mrs. Kujawa (Carson) for volunteering to help us on Wednesday :)
Thank you to Mrs. Maguire (Molly), Mrs. Cascadden (Lucas), and Ms. Capeling (Amelia) for your donations of paper plates, napkins, and paper cups :)
